I would like to take this opportunity to present my social activity, in which my community-mind, analysis and innovation ability are well demonstrated. In 2006, I joined Jesters Care For Kid Charity which is founded by Mr. S.J. Lake from 1998 aimed to raise fund to build shelters and schools for orphan and disabled children, and benefit local community of Chon Buri Province, in mid of Thailand.
This year, I was recommended to act as one of the organizers of event in charge of PR Communication & Marketing part, which is my strength on professional field. Analyzing on last year’s event result, I noticed less exposure- fewer people visited event-and limited funding resource. To increase the number of visiting people, I suggested both traditional and innovative mass media to draw public attention as much as possible by extending our mass communication including newspaper ad, brochure, and pamphlet of local news. By using tradition mass media, I suggested trying economical and unique methods to reach my target audience. For example, to assign volunteer students to distribute direct mail, brochure, and pamphlet at such traffic place as restaurant, bus stop, and hypermarket gate etc; to buy cheap newspaper space, taking advantage of low season for newspaper advertisement in Jul and Aug as it was school holiday. In addition, by using innovative media, we launched bus LCD PR program. For I found bus mobile LCD TV media was just introduced and brand new for local bus rider, there is not enough TV program and ad on this media channel. I contacted with bus mobile TV media agent, and persuaded them to broadcast our PR program to create talk of town, as they can get free-cost TV program material to broadcast; on the other hand, we get free ad time on mobile TV. In conclusion, they accepted our 10 min PR video program for trial whenever there is vacant time on the mobile LCD TV.
The significantly positive result was generated: more people were motivated and mobilized to visit this event. The number of visitors was 12 thousand, increasing 40% from last year, but our PR cost did not exceed last year. We did a simple survey on source of information: 35% informed by local cable TV; 25% informed by Bus LCD TV; 20% informed by newspaper; 10% informed by hard-printing brochure, and pamphlet; 10% informed by friends etc (attach chart 1.1). Especially, but we gained 25% of visitors informed by Bus LCD TV without cost anything, which was the greatest success to this event.
In conclusion, this is one of greatest achievement I have contributed to local society via my marketing sense, business analysis, communication, and innovation skills.
