Task 2 Should dangerous and vicios sports be banned by law?
Legal or Illegal
What is a dangerous or vicious sports? When asked this question , people may come up with various answers : Bungee Jumping , Rock-climbing , American wrestling , boxing or even World Endurance Championship in Le Mans .People have their own definition of dangerous sports, however, strictly speaking ,no sports is safe. A latest survey come up with the statistic showing that for many years , the biggest injuries caused by sports is due to bike-riding , but this sports is not called vicious. As an old saying goes , “every bean has its black” , the fact is that every sports has its dangerous aspect. However , a so called dangerous sports should not be banned by law.
The first thing that dawn to my mind is , since every sports has dangerous elements , why are still so many people interested in it? Some of my fellows will always go rapture at the mere mention of Randy Orton or Batista while I’m crazy about rock-climbing myself . Actually it’s the risk of the sports that interests people .If you see the risk as danger , you’ll certainly be well prepared before you get involved. Imagine if such sports is banned by law , how many people would be deprivated the right to enjoy the excitement of the game.
What’s more , this topic has long been discussed in the society. Opponents mentioned the illegal gambling behind boxing or wrestling in Vegas . However , this point of view is a bit short—sighted. What if the banned sports were put underground? It will be more dangerous and hard to be controled by the law . On the contrary ,if a sports is still legal , rules of the sports will be well developed to meet the requirments of the law and public. Thus a double win is achieved between the sports and the participants.
In conclusion , there’s no need to ban a so called dangerous sports by law . It’s only required that more carefully the sports should be taken so that the participants will enjoy the best it can provide . |
