getting advice from olders or peers When meeting a problem, some people want to get advice from a peer person, while others are likely to get advice from a olde person. Each of the two methods enjoy ssome advantages in some aspects. In my opinion, I agree with the later one. My reasons are as follows.
First of all, older people usually have more experiences than younger people and these experiences are often very useful for young people to deal with a special peoblem. On the contrary, let's take a look at a peer person. Peer friends tend to have the same background like you, and their opinions which are similar to you are not so useful to solve problems as older people's opinion. A most common situation is: an older person gives you a piece of advice which you may think is hard to understand. but after deeper consideration, you may find it is really practical to solve problems. What's more, older people, generally speaking, tend to have a patient attitude toward young people. Young friends like to cooperate with you to solve a problem together, but they are not good at giving advice due to the common impatient charater of young people. That is why young people want to get a piece of advice from a teacher or parents or older students frm his/her school. And in most cases, older persons have the respomsibility to help young people. Frankly speaking, friends at the same age own some advantages to help you in some cases. Communication between peer persons are easier than that between different ages. you can give advice to peers directly without any consideration of general gap. And advice from peer friends is sometimes easier to understand. But I still insist that the advantages of getting advice from older friends far overweighs that of from friends from the same age. From what has been discusses above, we can easily draw the conclusion that it is more meaningful to turn to older friends for advice and you will get useful things from there. (339) |
