george_shi200 and ProfCPA, thank you for your info. Yes, it's nornal for most universities to have such kinda selection, but so detailed distinguish of Chinese is rare. To my opinion, UCLA makes such selection because it has too many Chinese applicant and the Chinese in Califonia are too many. I hope that UCLA doesn't have such kinda preference.
