By your own admission, you don't have a clear idea about your own plans for the future, and you haven't really made any conscientious choice about your academic career up to this point, seeing that you have allowed (or relied upon) your parents to dictate what major to choose. There is no real "pre-school" for MBA except for a good work experience and a relatively precise idea of what you wish to accomplish by getting an MBA. Merely seeking to add "MBA" to your resume based on the perceived glamour of this degree is nothing short of foolish, and a waste of your money and time. It's good that you wish to take this opportunity to learn more about things you are interested in, but an MBA is not the appropriate choice based on what you have told us here. Figure out what you are interested in, if you are interested in finance and business, see if you can get an internship or externship at a company in the industry, and get some exposure to how things work. MBAs are meant to elevate one's career, given that you already have a career, and want to go further with a more complete set of tools and a wider network. It's not going to magically give you a halo over your head. |
