Hi, all CDers... I was just informed to be admitted to IBEAR MBA of USC Marshall Program. Following the rule, I posted my background to give guys more confidence. Ethan, Male, 197X (older than you expect.) 1) Academic -- not good enough 1-1) University - I got BA (economics) in the best domestic university. My average GPA was around 3 though my senior GPA was 3.8. 1-2) Exam: G 630 ; T (ibt) 98 - I think yours will be much better. While working more than 70 hours a week, I began to prepare exams from Oct 2006. I took ibt TOEFL in end of OCT, 2006 and GMAT in end of Nov, 2006. I wrote the essays for 3 business schools and rushed for recommendations before deadline. 2) Career -- much better than my academic achievement My working experience was stronger than my academic accomplishments. My working experience was more than 7 yrs including of 2 yrs in overseas multi-national co. 3) Essay and Interview The interview was so short that I doubted my performance was not good. Thanks for CD and some respectful people’s help, I thought my essay was good. Highly recommended USC IBEAR for every CDers, I highly recommended USC Marshall’s IBEAR program for the experienced applicants, especially for those who had strong career achievements. As we know, USC and its MARSHALL have excellent academic reputation. The IBEAR program was launched 30 years ago while other universities did not pay attention to international business education. Second, IBEAR’s project-based teaching method could lead the students to cultivate skills to solve problems in the real business world. Third, IBEAR’s students profile with 8 – 10 years working experiences can contribute more in class than other business schools’ student profile with 2 – 4 years working experience. Fourth, the various profiles of students from Pan-Pacific area can expand students’ personal network. Moreover, compared with the 2-year-program of other business schools, IBEAR’s 1–year-program won’t intermit my career too long. Finally, it’s much easier to find the jobs in Los Angles because of the LA’s diversified racial inhabitants and abound Asian migrants. I truly hope more excellent CDers applied for USC IBEAR next year. I also expect the one who also got the admission of USC IBEAR can contact me if you read this post. ps.
