Chicago GSB V.S. Columbia Business School

Dear all,

If determined to pursue IB/PE job in Wall Street or HK in the future, which school would you guys suggest?

In addition, what do you think about the two schools from the perspective of finance?

I'm a bit undecided between the two choices, coz each of them attracts me in certain way. For example, I like Chicago's flexible curriculum, the knowledgable faculty, and strong placement, while I am attracted by Columbia's location, practical experience, and alumni network in Asia and NYC.

Would you, every alumni/student from these two schools or niuniu, please provide some precious advices? Thanks!!

At this moment, I plan to work in investment banking department shortly after MBA, and to focus on M&A or certain industry such as financial institution.

Though I might want to try such job as sales and trading or private client service, I would reconfirm after the first few months in MBA.

And yes, I got the admission.

Congratulations! Could we share your work background & application experiences? I think Columbia is better for its higher caliber of enrollment,its alumnus net working like Warren Buffett who even gave up Wharton and entered Columbia at his 19 in 1949 and its faculties like Benjamin Graham (Buffett's tutor), Jim Rogers, Joseph Stiglitz etc, not mention the location - NYC. Columbia is my dreaming school. I think Chicago is very strong in its economics.
