16.It has recently been announced that a new restaurant may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer

I can see both advantages and disadvantages having a new restaurant built in our neighborhood. I am worried about the traffic that will affect our communtiy. Howeverr, it will inevitably boost the business and solve the problem of unemployment in our neighborhood. Overall, I support to build a new restaurant.

The reason is quite clear. Above all, having a new restaurant built will certainly provide more jobs to the local people. Besides, the money paid by the patron of the restaurant will soon be spent in other businesses in our neighborhood which will accelerate the circulation of currencies. Thus, it will ultimately promote the economical development in this area.

A further reason why I support to build a new restaurant in our neighborhood is that it can inescapably hep to improve our community .Generally, the restaurant will contribute its tax revenue to the government after making a profit. And then the tax revenue will be employed by the government to help ameliorate the services of our community by providing such public facilities as gymnasiums, natatoriums, and libraries. Therefore, it will furnish residents a good place to entertain as well as relax.

The third and very impotant reason is that it will promote positive competition.As is known the more restaurants we bulid , the fiercer of the competiton we have in the catering trade. Thus, the price will be much more fair. And this in turn will cause people to consume which will eventually make our neighborhood prosperous.

Of course, there also exist disadvantages to some extent such as hygiene problems, traffic jams after the restaurant is opened. What’s more? There may be some guests who get drunk and creat a disturbance. All of these will not only do harm to the community but also break the peace of our lives.

But if all these factors are contemplated; the disadvantages can be compensated by its advantages. From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that it is beneficial to have a new restaurant built in our neighborhood.
