.It has been said, "Not everything that is learned is contained in books." Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

Books and experience are two main channels where people acquire the information and knowledge. Also, in a sense, nobody would deny that both of them play an important role in our learning process. Nevertheless, from certain perspectives, this statement is largely weakened since knowledge from experience turns out to be more important than that from books in some areas.

Experience justifies whether knowledge from books are true or not. What's more, it is the only criterion of inspecting the truth, as the old Chinese says goes. So not all the knowledge from books, though which may seem to be convinving and grounded, is true. Aristotle’s theory that the earth is the centre of our galaxy had not been challenged for centuries until Galileo made some observations and researches. Then the new theory of sun center theory was born in such a case, changing people's traditional ideas from that time on. Therefore, it is obvious that practical knowledge functionally attests the theories gained from books.

Experience is also a very important supplement to knowledge from books. As the above quote “Not everything that is learned is contained in books”, I agree that we can’t learn everything from a book. Experience is the best teacher. For instance, we can not learn how to swim unless we jump into the water. Besides, the most important, and sometimes the hardest, lessons we learn in life come from our participation in situation. We cannot learn emotional feelings, such as love and care through books. They come from our real life experience. (You should re-write this paragraph as the topic sentence is not in line with your evidence. Also, the topic sentence fails to persuade the readers that knowledge from experience counts more. Rather, it would be logical and rational if you put your point like this: More valuable experience is also a very important supplement to that from books.)

Admittedly, compared with the practical knowledge, theories in the books might be more systematic. If not, no one would still adopt the traditional way of learning from books, as it is today. However, striking a balance between the advantages and disadvantages, it's clear to see that knowledge from experience still outstands that gained from books.

To conclude, the source where much knowledge is gained from experience counts more.

No2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers

Who are the best teachers in our life? Different people hold different views due to their distinct backgrounds. As far as I am concerned, both parents and schoolteachers are very important in our life. If I am asked to choose one of them, I would probably say that parents are the best of all the teachers.  (Why do you always like such a beginning with redundancy  :-( )

The main reason for my view is that parents are the very first teachers in our lives. Their role is indispensable. It is parents who teach us to walk the first step and to say the first word. , so the initial development in childhood is very crucial in later personality formation. During the childhood, parents who are acting as teachers as well, influence us greatly from the daily habits to the attitudes towards the life. Nobody can claim that his character is formed without his parents' influence.

Furthermore, parents are the most dedicated teachers. They are available 365 days per year, 7 days per week and 24 hours per day (This sentens is grammtically correct but is it sensible ? Can your parents still teach you sth when they are sleeping at night? Likewise, some parents are quite busy in the day time, and they spend little time on their children's education). As long as we turn to them for help, they are always there awaiting us. In addition, parents teach us everything they know without any reservations. They are the only teacher who can teach various subjects both in academic and in emotional areas.(This sentence is too absolute! ) Taking my parents as an example, I have never been rejected when I ask them for advice even if once I called them at midnight from abroad. (You take your parents as an example, but is that persuasive when extended to parents in other families? So far as I know, some parents are not doing a good job as your parents are.) Besides, the lessons from my parents on my life journey are various, such as cooking, knitting, even dating.

Admittedly, at the professional level, parents may be not competent as the schoolteachers. Some parents may not be as erudite as schoolteachers. Some parents' teaching method may not be as scientific as that adopted in schools. However, at emotional level, parents are the best teachers in our lives. Just as the sayingThere is no place like home.” , I think there is no better psychological teacher (mentor) like our parents.

In the final analysis (This phrase is unidiomatic as we are writing an essay rather than a scientific report), given the above mentioned reasons, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive, we can arrive at the conclusion that parents are the best teacher, although the professional teachers in school are playing the significant role.  (Your ending is a formular, indeed ! )
