求助：essay字数到底可以超多少？

essay写得很痛苦，压缩字数更痛苦。请问大侠们，essay字数到底可以超过多少啊？如果学校规定1000 words，我最多可以用多少呢？如果是500 words限制呢？我实在没谱啊。个人感觉可以超过一点，但度不好把握。请知情人士指点。多谢

I've heard 10% is the limit. But do make sure the quality of your essay will exceed at least 10% as well.

My suggestion is to follow the instruction and not to go over the word limit.
