答案为D, composer应改为composers,这个没问题,我想问的是这里distinctly为副词,为何可以修饰名词American style?

19．The eighteenth century witnessed the emergence of North American ports, particular Boston, New York, and Philadelphia, as major commercial centers within the

British empire.

答案为B,particular改为particularly, 请问这里particularly是否是个习惯的用法?

这题我选错了, 我选了C, 请问在托福语法中:

1.as作为象...和like是可以互换的吗?有没有区别?

2.as 可以只连接短语?(我记得在Gmat中as是必须连接句子的)

关于第一题，就选错误明显的那个。另外，American 可以解释成美国式的，这样，意思就“明显美国式的风格”

as可以连接短语，比如听力中有个短语是：fit as a fiddle-非常健康

第一题明白了,第二题还有疑问:

1.fit as...应该算是个习惯用法吧,和我说的as不一样,我想问的是当as和like都作为"象..."的意思时,有没有区别?比如:

Like Tom, Jack will go to...(这个正确)

As Tom, Jack will...(这个应该不对吧?)

2.这题可否理解为as引导句子中省略了主语和谓语,即:

The eighteenth century witnessed the emergence of North American ports, particular Boston, New York, and Philadelphia, as (it witnessed) major commercial centers within the British empire.

做介词的时候，意思不一样，不能互换

as 当作 like 象

as当作“象”的意思讲的时候，是连词，后面可以连接句子的，而like是介词。
