Great question! So, the biggest differences between Full-Time and Part-Time programs are:
1. Your ability to work while you're in school (and not give up your salary)
2. Competitiveness of admissions
There are other differences that come from choosing one over the other (like the close relationships you build in a full-time program, the trips, internships, etc.), but those are the biggies. Some people prefer to do an MBA part-time so they don't have to give up their jobs/salaries. That way, they graduate with less debt. Yes, it takes a bit longer, but it is worth it to them. This option also makes more sense for people who plan to stay in their current industry, or even their current company, since PT programs don't offer the option for an internship (which is where most FT students will get their chance to gain experience in a new industry.)
Part-time programs also tend to be a bit less competitive when it comes to admissions. The students can be older, the GMAT scores are a bit lower, etc. So it is a great way to get an AWESOME brand name on your resume with slightly lower stats. And you're getting the same exact education, so it's a real win!
Of course, in order to go part-time, you have to live in that city and have a job in that city. And you gotta prove that you have a job. So if you're coming from abroad, unless you transfer here for work/get a job here, you likely won't be able to attend or apply for part-time programs
Hope that helps! Please let me know if you want to chat more about this, or have more Qs around full-time programs!
Best,
