也是在托福上挣扎了很久，中间放弃过，隔了两年成绩都过期了又重新拾起，到后面阅读听力都有慢慢的提升，唯独口语和写作成了拖累。其中，独立写作发挥不稳定，在good和fair两边徘徊。把自己练的tpo中的一篇作文拿出来，求大神指导，多谢多谢。
题目：Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? One of the best ways that parents can help their teenage children prepare for adult life is to encourage them to take a part-time job. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
As a common sense, it is crucial for teens to prepare for being an adult before they actually become. Notwithstanding the recognition, there remains an intensive controversy over how the parents assist their kids on such a preparation. Some deem taking a part-time job one of the idealistic methods, while the other don’t. From my perspective, I would support the former opinion.
Firstly, a part-time job experience is the best way to understand how the society runs, cultivate the next generation’s responsibility for the society and empathy for the others, with the definition of “adulthood”. The interpersonal relationship is beyond the youth’s expectation if they are stuck on the peaceful and happy campus. Taking a part-time job outside the school provides the young generation a chance to know more the thoughts of the elder, to learn more about the people with different backgrounds and disparate life experience. In accordance with a survey taken by the Teenager Growth Institute, a young individual who has part-time job experience shows apparently a mature sense and understanding of the other people who suffered from the poverty, illness or other unfair treatments. Moreover, when those subjects who had a part-time job in their teenage grew up, they inclined to participating the welfare business or helping others.
Secondly, the young people also benefit from the part-time job as they have an opportunity to make their life themselves. With such incipient fund, the young people will be confronted with such a question that everybody will do in the adulthood: “How should I manage the money? How much should I allocate into the consumption, into the investment or into the other things?” With the awareness arising, he or she will actively search, learn and attempt to manage their fund. Such a finance management, or in other words, the finance planning plays an fairly significant role in an adult life, for mastering such a skill does help a person to live an organized, rich and happy life, exempt from the suffering of no saving nor insurance for the mishaps.
Admittedly, parents have other options for their kids to prepare for their adulthood such as obtaining relative education on the Internet or via teachers in the school. However, it can be compared to a difference between “theoretical” and “practical” educations. Even though the teenagers attend to plentiful lectures, seminars with famous scholars on how to become a better adult, they cannot actually be better adults if they only know how theoretically to be a good man. Without doubt, even a professor with enormous knowledge on the military theories cannot take place of a general. Accordingly, considering the deep and unforgettable efforts of personal experience and deep knowledge about the society, part-time job is irreplaceable with all the in-school education.
As all the reasons stated above, with my deepest discretion, I would draw a conclusion that taking a part-time job is one of the best option for parents to train their kids for the future since the part-time job is a significant access to the real society, a wonderful experience to manage the personal finance planning and irreplaceable by any other theoretical education.
