We all work or will work in our jobs with many different kinds of people. In your opinion, what are some important characteristics of a co-worker (someone you work closely with)? Use reasons and specific examples to explain why these characteristics are important.
As our society develops, it becomes more and more difficult to deal with something individually than by a team-work. A good work group in which co-works can help, stimulate and learn from each other consists of different members who may have some characteristics in common.
In my view, first of all, the co-worker should be easy-going which means a person is pleased to listen to the others’ sincere suggestions carefully, discuss various opinions with others without losing his temper and correct his errors modestly. Take my experience for an example: This summer I and my two classmates took part in the Chinese National E-commerce Competition in which we had to make many tough decisions varying from what the topic of the paper should be to how to sell a product. But easy-going as we all are, we finally agreed on all the problems and found the best way to solve the troubles.
Beside easy-going, I think a co-worker also should be responsible for his duties. For instance, during our competition we three were subject to three separated sections. If one section failed, the whole competition would fail. With the strong responsibility, not only did each of us accomplish our single work well but also we helped and encouraged the others to finish their job ahead of time. That was the power responsibility had and that was why we got high marks in every section of the competition.
The last but not least characteristic needed by a co-worker is unselfish. A person who is unselfish will do whatever he was told without any complaint even though there my be unfair to him to do that; while a selfish person will perform just oppositely and he concerns nothing expect his own benefits. Here is another example during our competition: in the process of the match , Xiao you, one of my partners, stopped writing his own paper required by his boss to help me review my paper for the match. Although this section was assigned to me, he still spent so much time helping me finish that he could not finish his job on time. What a kind heart it is and what a unselfish people he is!
Actually, co-worker may have. Other good characteristics which I have not mentioned yet .what I have listed are the ones that I think are very essential. Easy-going make a co-worker accepted by the others, responsibility makes him achieve his goals and unselfishness wins respect or him. All this characteristics make a work group a wonderful and competitive group.

The government has announced that it plans to build a new university. Some people think that your community would be a good place to locate the university. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of establishing a new university in your community. Use specific details in your discussion.
Our community is facing a dilemma of whether to construct a new university here. Neither the proponents who emphasis the advantages nor the opponents who care for the disadvantages would not like to give in. Concerning the complexity nature of this tough problem, I will take these views both into consideration in my following discussion.
I think the first and foremost advantage to building a university is the achievement of educational opportunities for our community’s residents. Our community has experienced great development during these years due to the hard work of a large number of talent and competent people who have earned high regular education. To some extent, earning Education is equal to gaining knowledge. And it is a variety of knowledge that leads our community toward the right direction to prosperity. Because of the location of the university, our community’s residents would have more chances to enter it and obtain the knowledge to contribute this territory.
Further more, establishing a university would provide us many other unprecedented chances such as the chance of unemployed workers applying for a position as a librarian in the school, of anxious parents finding a excellent student to help their kid with his or her study or of lovely children playing in the campus and dreaming that one day they may become a real student here. In addition, constructing a university has other potential influences on our community. The increase of amount of investment would be just a case in point.
Certainly, there are some inevitable disadvantages to building a university in our community. For instance, as more people would enter our community, safety might become the prime consideration. It can be imagined that the stream of diverse people continuously reaching and leaving our community might result in unpredictable factors such as the increase of robbery, cheat or anything else.
What’s more, traffic would become a big trouble beyond our imagination and control. Both a cluster of cars parking near the university and a group of collage students huddling on the street could lead to traffic jam.
To sum up, though there are some disadvantages of establishing a new university here, it provides little evidence to object this proposal because the advantages apparently outweigh the disadvantages. To compare the opportunities with the less important shortages building a university brings to us; I prefer establishing a university in our community.
