Verbal review SC 63--不理解capable to修饰的内容

非牛。只是说说想法。造个简化的句子。

I vernate NNs, such as Ron, capable of cracking GMAT.

按照就近修饰的原则，就是 baby姐讲的拆分句子的精神。
what about you? I vernate NN.
who are NNs? Ron.
why? He is capable of cracking GMAT.

所以，capable of 就近修饰。

这个例子好精彩

但我还有个问题，如果Capable就近修饰preceeding noun, 那为什么C， OG对于inflicting的解释是“C It is not clear what the participial inflicting modifiers”

，+ing 放句末的用法考察副词的作用(见Manhattan)， are equiped with, 这个动作跟 “,+ing”副词修饰没有逻辑关系。
继续上边的例子吧

I vernate Ron, buying a beer for him. (adv modifies vernate)
I vernate Ron, capable of cracking GMAT. (adj modifies Ron )
I vernate Ron, buying a beer for Obama. (wrong, no clear logical connection)

阿原来不是指infict到底修饰的是preceeding noun还是其他的什么，而是infict作为ing时一定是要和前面所修饰的内容有关联！

...我顶一下贴子……虽然我知道C可以通过that 排除…… 但其实还是不能理解为啥OG解释inflicting修饰不明，难道不可以用inflicting 做到are equipped 的这个动作的伴随结果吗？蒙圈中……

我现在已经明白这题了，如果C inflicting 修饰前面的entire clause, 那逻辑主语只能是kitchen,这样意思就不对啦。
