TPO 9 的综合作文。比较fuel cell engine & internal combustion engine那篇
The passage believes that the fuel-cell engine is superior to the internal-combustion engines since it has several advantages. However, the professor in the lecture has a different opinion.
First, the passage indicates that the hydrogen, the fuel used by fuel-cell engine, can not be easily depleted. There are plentiful source, such as natrual gas and water. Nevertheless, the professor argues that the hydrogen that is usable must be in the form of pure liqid in an extremely cold enviornment. Therefore, the hydrogen fuel is very difficult to produce or store.
Second, the passage suggests that the fuel cells are very attractive because they never casue any pollution, because the only byproduct of the fuel-cell engine is merely water. But, the professor in her argument says the process of manufacturing the fuel-cell engine will burn a lot of coals or oils. Thus, the factories that produce the fuel-engine cause pollutions to the global enviornment.
Third, the passage expresses that the fuel-cell saves money since it is twice as efficient as the internal combustion engines. However, the professor says that both the manufacture process of the fuel cell engine and the operation of the fuel cell engine consume the rare and expensive metal, namely platinum. Therefore, the adoption of the fuel cell engine is not economically competitive. |
