I will even say: who cares about MBA in Germany?
we all know that Germany is a country which is strong in engineering, high-technology production.......and indeed the whole education and social security, and thus also job market is tailored to serve this goal, e.g.:
- very long education (have master, diploma before Bologna) before able to find a good job.
- high job security (difficult to fire someone), so that one don't have to worry and switch between companies frequently
- high unemployment insurance, so that people don't have to worry about losing earning ability even their expertise is outdated (and thus can focus on doing something very specialized)
and MBA is a very US stuffs, which fit the US way very well, but that's for US. Simply the system of society is different. It will be treated as a degree that connect experience between different discipline, and a fast track to promotion, but it is kind of a "water-blowing" degree and not well respected in some industry (e.g. engineering and technology)
and thus if they need someone to be promoted to a senior management role, they are more likely to promote someone with solid education (at least master, lots of PhD), and with solid working experience, not to mention Deutsch |
