[求助]AA-1新手,请走过路过的不吝赐教,谢谢!

按照孙的模式写的,第一篇磨磨蹭蹭的,攥了很久,连错也没有改,请大家帮我指正,万分感谢

The following appeared as part of an annual report sent to stockholders by Olympic Foods, a processor of frozen foods.

“Over time, the costs of processing go down because as organizations learn how to do things better, they become more efficient.  In color film processing, for example, the cost of a 3-by-5-inch print fell from 50 cents for five-day service in 1970 to 20 cents for one-day service in 1984.  The same principle applies to the processing of food.  And since Olympic Foods will soon celebrate its twenty-fifth birthday, we can expect that our long experience will enable us to minimize costs and thus maximize profits .”

In this argument, the arguer concludes that Olympic Foods will enable to minimize costs and thus maximize profits in the future. To support this conclusion, the arguer points out that the longer time organizations take to learn how to do things better, the more efficient they will become, and thus the costs of processing will go down. In addition, the arguer reasons that one color film processing already cut down to 20 cents per 3-by-5-inch print in 1984 while 50 cents in 1970, and, as a matter of fact, Olympic Foods will minimize costs soon for the long experience collected during 25 years. A careful examination of this argument would reveal how groundless it is.

In the first place, the argument turns on the assumption that the costs of processing go down because the organizations become more efficient as they learn how to do things better. However, to do things better sometimes does not lead to be more efficient. The fact that, the more efficient, which causes the less costs, indicates at least the more products or/and profits are gained per hour. It is possible that making things better may cost more time or money or human resources. For example, to a company, establishing a customer service center will cost a spate of money and form a better brand reputation and earn profit in the long turn, but it will do nothing about the costs of processing. Lacking more complete information about the way to do better, we cannot assume that as organizations learn how to do things better from their years experience, they will efficiently cut down the costs of processing.

In the second place, it is highly doubtful that the processing of food can be applied the same principle as the processing of film. Given that the change of the costs of color-film processing is cut down more than a half of the original price, it is possible that because the rapid development of the physics in the imaging field. The arguer unfairly trivializes the cause which made a better processing come true. Moreover, the arguer fails to realize the differences between the two industries clearly outweigh the similarities. It is possible that the food industry has already renovated several times and there is nothing can be better based on the food we still used to eat, which definitely has a longer history than the film industry. If so, the costs of food processing is more likely to remain.

In conclusion, the arguer fails to demonstrate that Olympic Foods will minimize the costs of processing. To strengthen the argument, the author would have to provide evidence that Olympic Foods has learned a better way to process food as a result of its 25 years experience. To better evaluate the argument, we would need more information about supporting examples drawned from industries more similar to the food-processing industry.
