It is a polite custom of the western world. The interviewee always write a Thank You letter to show their appreciation to the interviewer's time and effort. If you want to study or even work in that world, you'd better to start from following this simple rule. Most business school interviewers do not write back to a Thanks letter. But if you do get one, it means either this person has a extremely polite manner or really enjoys the conversation with you and might think you are an outstanding candidate. I sent out 5 thanks letters and only got one letter back. And I got in that school. However, I don't think the thanks letter really has anything to do with your admition. It's just a way to show you respect and appreciation to someone who have done a favor to you. |
