问学校是一年放一个大长假好还是一年放几个短假好
My school give students several short vacations throughout a year, the short
vacations, however, has never appealed to me. I always regarded short vacation as longer weekend, which is too tight to do anything.
Most of my friends invariably go into raptures at the coming short vacation. They hold that not only does short vacation gives them a little break, but also tends to not affect the continuance of studying. Nevertheless, according to a survey conducted in our state, the academic performance of students in the school with a long vacation each year is better than that the school with several short vacations. Whereas the long vacation is available for students to operate a big scientific research. A scientist in the survey said that nothing can compare to a tremendous research that can sharpen a man's creative power, imagination, patience. A short vacation is too short to complete such a project.
In addition, the long vacation allows students to have a distant trip. In the short vacation, the available destination is just a one or two hour’s bus ride away place. Maybe you had been there for 3or4 times. Even you could feel drowsy of the place. On the contrary, the approach of a remote place tends to be a more extent exposure to knowledge of the world. Perhaps, in the trip you can visit the chief of tribe in African forest. You also can talk to the wisest monk in Tibetan temple. If you just have several days leisure, how could you experience the beauty of the world before hear spring in Yellowstone Park? How could you savor the sweet of life? How could you get knowledge that books may not have.
To sum up, given the reasons discussed above. I could like to say, if i had a choice again now to choose one of vacation types of these schools, i would choose the school with a long vacation without any hesitation.
