: To award student's efforts or achievement, which one is better? How should we award student's efforts or achievement? Due to different backgrounds and various angles, every people may hold their different views. Some may suggests to provide a prize, or some kind of honor or other practical things. As far as I am concerned, I think the better one is to provide a chance. My reasons are as follows. First, to award someone, the best way is to give them something they most need. Most students make efforts or achievement just because they like it, or in another way to say, they are interested in it. So, they will be very happy if have a chance to go further on the same way because that is what they are eager to do. To different students, chance perhaps has various meaning, it may be a better education, or a recommendation, or just attending a contest. We should consider it case by case. Secondly, to award a chance for someone’s efforts or achievement will have positive effects to other students either. Chance is more valuable than any other awards to most students, because they are pursuing the rare chance. Awarding chance to someone will set up a good example to all students, they will know what is right or what should be imitated. By doing so, it will pour energy of competition to students, which will drive them to make more efforts or achievement. All will think it is fair, and agree that the awarded students deserve it. Thirdly, it is better to chance itself. To some prepared students, chance means success. On the contrary, to other students who are not prepared well, it just means to watch a good chance pass by. The prepared students will most cherish the chance and make the best utilization of it. If a chance could be used to help one success, it would be a success to chance itself. In conclusion, to award student's efforts or achievements, a chance will be better. |
