关于UNC的information Reception invitation

今天收到UNC的information Reception Invitation,  2/16, Tokyo，UNC Admissions Director Sherry 会来，我现在在东京，可是我刚定了2/7号回上海的机票，想回家过年，回去就不再回来了，大家说有必要为这个留下来等吗？这个应该是发给所有的申请人的，如果不参加会有不好的影响吗？真的不想留在这里等，已经等了很久没有任何消息，这样等着太难受了。有没有哪位XDJM收到过information reception invitation而没有去的经历吗？真的很矛盾，大家怎么看呢？

If that invitation does not include interview or other important things that can influence your admission, do what you plan to do.

谢谢LS的，和interview无关，只是介绍关于admissions requirements, curriculum, life in Chapel Hill等，我约了2/19号的电话面试。不参加应该没问题的吧，机票很难退，而且这样会影响自己很多后面的安排。：（ 我回信问一下他们在中国有么，如果有参加中国的最好啦。

I think the purpose of this kind of receptions is to give the applicants a chance to know about the school, not the vice versa. It should not affect your admission.

Plan what you need to do, but you don't have to tell them your whole plan, unless you have decided to stay in Tokyo. Otherwise, it sounds like you are not dedicated enough to the school.
