2010年1月14日 Today there is an international seminar in our college, so I also have a day off.
In the morning, as usual, I took some new words in my mind. Then, I entered the assembly room at 9:00 a.m. In the afternoon, I
decided not to continue audit the reporting, as what they present is barely nothing to do with my major. The topic they discussed was
how to preserve the Three Gorges from the non-point pollution! Thus I stayed in our studying room to learn how to cite others' words or
remarks through Barron. Quoting is an equally useful skill in TOEFL not only in speaking but also in writing. I should note the tense and
subject when citing.
In the evening, I finished a composition, taking advantage of a writing template:
Question:
Some people like to eat at home and prepare food by themselves, but others prefer to eat outside in restaurants or at food stands. Do you prefer eat out or eat at home?
Nowadays, a hot and important controversy centering on the problem whether eating outside or at home. A fair propotion of people maintain that they prefer to have meals outside; other people, nevertheless, advocate that eating at home is better. As far as I am concerned, I side with the latter. Of the countless facts that can strenthen my viewpoints, I will present the most consequential and auspicuous ones here.
The first plain truth, I am pressing here, is that cooking by ourselves is more economical and more nutritious than eating outside. Today, nothing is more important than money and health and on no account can we ignore the significance of either. As you know, it is nothing but luxury in a good restaurant. Even if you notice this and choose to enter the cafeteria or KFC for fast food, how could you absorb in adequate nutrients? To earn enough money, they have to serve as many as customers so ignoring the quality of food. Consequently, earting out is a better choice.
Moreover, an equally essential aspect which deserves citizens’ attention is no one can ensure the sanitation of the cooking surroundings and processes in varieties of restaurants. Everyone knows the lower the cost, the more the revenue. With money in their mind they lack of the awareness and morality that take customers’ health into account. The news about food issues in restautants seems to be never exhauted in the world.
In addition, behind my preference lie on an extremly vital fact that eating at home is conducive to relieve your working stress. Which would you prefer between enjoying the lunch with your family and eating in the KFC rashly? Undoubtedly, home is warmer and more cozy than cafeteria outside.
Admittedly, just as an English proverb goes“a coin has two sides”,eating out is also not so terrible. After all, eating out can save your time, especially for the busy white or golden collars. For instance, you have to work overtime to accomplish a document, so you have to finish your lunch as quickly as possible. Under such circumstance, eating in a cafeteria can be instrumental for you to save time for your job.
To conclude, although some people may still remain unconvinced, the reasons I have analyzed could at least make them more aware of the various dimensions of the issue under discussion. There is little doubt that more and more people will come to realize eating out is preferable |
