Phd in IS, UTD or LSU?

十几天前陆续收到了university of texas at
dallas(TA) 和 louisiana state university(RA) 的offer, phd in information
systems，两边给的钱差不多. 马上就要决定了，请各位朋友给点意见，比如说专业和学校的名气，地理位置，job
market,faculty's reputation。尤其欢迎已在这两所学校读书的朋友给点信息。

Armadillo, what kinds of stories have you heard? Would you please tellme some? UTD is a very young university, founded in 1969, its overallranking is not good, but it seems to be very promising. The facultymembers in IS concentration are mostly from reputated universities suchas Purdue, Rochester, but 60% of them are Indians. I wonder could thosewho have worked with Indian professors share their experiences with us,cuz I have heard from my friends that although this is a case-by-casesituation, some Indians are very tough.

UTD ranks 27th by the US News & World Report (2006) in IS, but itsoverall ranking is quite low, maybe about 150. Plus, its a younguniversity, so I am kind of hesitated.

thanks, huangpen, it seems that you have also talked to the director inthe IS department at UTD, cuz we got the same info regarding itsstudents' replacement.

BTW, to my knowledge, you were also admitted to UTD and I suppose thatyou have received the official admission letter this Friday. Will yougo to UTD this fall or do you have other choices?

i have also received admission letter from Temple University, but thefinancial assistance decision has not been made yet. Does anyone knowMIS department at Temple?
