换个角度理解，a giant fungus做organism的同位语，that is紧跟着解释这个fungus，也就是说逗号后面是个同位语从句
这个从句中主语是 that，指代fungus，系动词is，表语filigree，然后接了三个插入语修饰filigree
插入语1：of mushrooms and rootlike tentacles，介宾短语，表明filigree的属性，是一种M和RT
