本来的疑惑是这题，但是查找资料后更加迷茫，希望有好心人看完我巨长的问题

答案选B,我的疑惑是这个based on修饰的是Mochica还是society，如果是M，语法上解释不通，但是如果是preceding noun即society，感觉语义上解释不同啊，我的理解是Mochica在种植玉米和豆类等农作物，捕捞鱼类和贝类以及开发其他野生和家养资源的基础上，发展了自己的精细社会），而不是（社会在...基础上发展了社会），所以我对这个的解释是based on是修饰整个develop的状语，证据如下2.https://forum.chasedream.com/thread-60899-1-1.html，即based on修饰employer的reject 和dismiss的两个动作，作状语

这题选B, 因为OG解释based on修饰scholar，与ron语法一致，based on 只能修饰名词，即based on的逻辑主语是scholar，而scholars are based on不对，但我跟这个发问的楼主理解一样，就是为什么不能理解成作状语scholars have painted a picture based on accounts of various ancient writers呢，这样理解的话based on肯定就不是修饰名词吧而是整个句子

所以based on到底可不可以修饰动词/句子，如果不可以，可不可以解释一下这三道题的矛盾？？脑子不够用了，希望有大神来解答一下。

我说一下我个人的看法把，希望能有点帮助
第一题 based on 是在句尾，逗号加过去分词形式，我认为逻辑意思来看这里是修饰前面整个句子的
第二题和第一题一样
第三题 based on 作修饰语在句子最前面，这种修饰语的结构是一定要考虑逻辑主语的，这是规定，不管是现在分词引导还是过去分词，逗号后面紧贴的主语一定要是前面的逻辑主语，所以这里scholar are based on 肯定是错的，因为scholar 和base 之间是主动的关系；其次你说这里能不能和前面两道题一样修饰整个句子，其实都是修饰整个句子的含义，只不过在前面你必须得考虑逻辑主语，若放在后面没有那么严格的要求
eg：scholars have painted a sketchy picture based on accounts of various ancient writers.

啊先谢谢回复！好像有点茅塞顿开
那就是based on并不是像ron说的一样只能修饰名词？但是放在前面一定要考虑逻辑主语

是的哈你可以看正确句子里面的 based on 怎么用，就可以知道它的各种用法了

并不是大神，发表一点自己的看法，欢迎大家的指正。楼主很细心，给你点个赞。
1先搬上based on的用法
1)  Based on xxx, sub + verb  (based on修饰subject)
2)  Sub+ verb +object +based on xxx ( based on 修饰object)
3)  Noun is/was/are/were based on xxx （based on 修饰的是noun）

Ron 视频里面也有
回答你的第一个问题修饰的是society。
这里的解释应该是M（莫奇卡人）建造了他们的精心设计的社会，这个（精美的）社会是立基于种植农作物，捕鱼和海鲜，以及开发一些野生本地资源。这里是第二种用法

第三题是不是应该选择E呢，这里是第一种用法。这里一般ed/ ing 放在开头了，后面是需要找逻辑主语。用法就是如第一个所说，需要能和based on有逻辑关系，这里没有。

第二题我想了很久也没有找到合适的解释，要是划线句是based on 我觉得我会做错。因为我不觉得能修饰到前面的Noun。欢迎对这道题目有理解的同学能够讨论。

你好，我觉得一二题应该都是修饰句子吧，即不是修饰名词，查字典也可以看到这样作状语的表达，所以我比较赞同3楼说的。因为没有看过ron的视频，所以也不知道为什么他不同意这样的用法。
