132) The following appeared in a letter to the school board in the town of Centerville.

All students should be required to take the driver's education course at Centerville High School. In the past two years, several accidents in and around Centerville
have involved teenage drivers. Since a number of parents in Centerville have complained that they are too busy to teach their teenagers to drive, some other instruction is necessary to ensure that these teenagers are safe drivers. Although there are two driving schools in Centerville, parents on a tight budget cannot afford to pay for driving instruction. Therefore an effective and mandatory program sponsored by the high school is the only solution to this serious problem.
Write a response in which you examine the stated and/or unstated assumptions of the argument. Be sure to explain how the argument depends on these assumptions and what the implications are for the argument if the assumptions prove unwarranted.

In this letter, the author considers that all the students should be required to take dirver's education course at Centerville High School
.The author claims that the accidents around Centerville High School have involved teenage drivers in the recent two years and it is already a serious problem, so the driving course is the best solution. However, this argument is full of holes and assumptions. The author makes a lot of assumptions based on his or her own point rather than an objective view.

It is unfair to infer that all the traffic accident involved with teenage driver is the result of their poor driving skills. This inference is unlikely to be true since the author omit other aspects that could cause the same consequence. The roads around the Centerville High School
may be in poor condition or these roads are extremely difficult with a number of shut turns. In that condition, even though a driver with a lot of driving experience is likely to get into road accidents. In that condition, what Centerville High School should do is to repair the road and make it in good condition, or ask for more police for help to direct the traffic in rush hours. The author assumes that the accidents are all caused by the teenage student's lacking of driving skill is less convincing.

Besides, the author claims that Centerville High School
should provide the driving course because the parents of the students could not afford them.In this claimication, the author is assuming that Centerville High School has plenty of money and is able to provide each of its students of a driving course. However, Centerville High School may now faces a tight budget and does not have extra money to provide the driving cause for their students.Even though Centerville High School now has enough money to let their students to have such a class, it seems unfair to ask the school to do this.Since the driving skill not only grantee the safety of the school, but also it also can be used whenever one is driving.Actually, the driving course benefits the students better than the school. So it is the students but not the school that should pay for the driving courses. The author assumed that Centerville High School is able to pay for the driving class seems convincing. Also, it is not the duty of Centerville High School.

Moreover, the author makes an assumptions that the driving course could surely enhance the students' driving skill thus grantee the safety around the school. However, this may not always be true.Since the driving course is total funded by Centerville High School
and students never have to pay anything, there could be some students who do not take this course seriously.Perhaps some naught guys just skip the driving course and play video games with their friends. Some hard working students, however, consider working on their academic project is more important than driving class and they never show up in these classes.Under those conditions, the driving classes do less thing with the driving skill of the students, thus, it is less likely to decline the accidents near Centerville High School.

To sum up, though the author thinks it is a great method for Centerville High School
to provide driving courses to their students which benefits both the students and the school, the real condition may not be like that.Since the author makes poor assumption and deducing, the driving classes may never achieve its aim. Thus, the driving class is less likely to cut down the accidents happen around school.

题目让谈谈implication,这部分应该很重要。
