Companies tend to provide open working environment to their employees to achieve team work. A survey turns out that most of employees are not satisfied with their open working environment. Some of them have to take their work to more private places to get their work done. Engagement is correlated with employees’ satisfaction of working environment. And they are both correlated with working environment that help employees to be more concentrate on their work.

Time 3: 1:08

Open-plan is to achieve better communication. But for employees who can effectively collaborate with others, privacy of working place is more important. But this doesn’t mean the open-plan should be abandoned altogether. The balance of open-plan and privacy should be taken into consideration. According to employees, inadequate staffing is one of the biggest causes of stress, but employers do not think so. They think technology is the major cause, but employees do not think so. Without identifying the biggest cause of stress, it is not possible to promote a lower stress envrionment. But Lacking of good communication and feedback system, even the most good-meaning management team can not find the biggest cause.

Time 6: 1:54

Being a tech-savvy is important to be a leader or show that that your have the capability to be a leader. An experiment took proved the theory. Another experiment showed the same message. And women benefit more from the tech-savvy image. This is different from that men typically benefit more from the same self-promoting impression strategies than women. But if you are not a tech-savvy, it is not all bad, as long as you know enough to look reasonably competent.

Intuition forms over times. Three factors affect manage intuition deeply, EM growth, disruptive technology advancement, Aging population. Economic growth is shifting its weight to emerging market, even to less known cities in emerging market. This will change the world. According to moor’s law, the technology advancement is accelerating, but the price won’t, so more and more people will obtain latest technology. This will change the world dramatically as well.

The rest: 0:59

The fertility is falling and the world’s population is graying dramatically. Thirty years ago, only a few countries had fertility rates considerably below those needed to replace each generation, comprising only a small share of the global population. But by 2013, almost 60 percent of people lived in such countries. This will cause smaller workforce, less consumption
and slower economic growth.
