Rochester MSF 申请注意事项
   1.不要递送正式的TOEFL、GMAT和大学成绩单。只需要在网申系统上传。
    2.申请的时候不需要资产证明。
    3.网申时需要上传护照第一页的扫描件。
    4.工作经验没有硬性要求

   Essay 1 (Required): Describe your short-term and long-term goals for post-MBA or post-MS. Given the fluctuation of economic and industry hiring trends, please identify a back-up plan should your short-term goal not be immediately attainable. How does your past education and experience support your career objectives? What aspects of the Simon School program make it a good choice for your graduate study? (250-500 word limit)
Back in 2008 when I was still a high school student, I was totally struck by The Shawshank Redemption the first time I watched it. Andy's comprehensive knowledge about banking business and his brilliance in flexibly applying it to defeating the evil warden greatly impressed my naive and sensitive heart. Even though he was just a fictional figure, I made him my role model and from then on I have been dreaming to become a professional and prestigious banker. Unfortunately I failed in the College Entrance Exam, and consequently I was admitted to MIS Major. But I've never given up on my dream. I successfully transferred to Finance Major as the top 1 student of MIS Major after two semesters of diligence and perseverance.
My short-term goal after graduation from Simon Business School includes to pass CFA level II examination in two years and to get employed as an analyst in investment or loan departments of a commercial bank (preferably, Bank of China). In the long term, I would build on the success of this endeavor, keep striving hard and rise to challenges bravely. In 20 years after graduation, I see myself in that bank as a senior manager with CFA and CPA certificates, actively making general investment and management decisions. Another plan in my heart, I've decided to donate my first ￥50,000 to Qingdao University which gave me the opportunity to study in Finance Major and my second ￥50,000 to the small and old chapel near my home which offered me courage and spiritual support to fight for my dream whenever I was faced with difficulties and confusion.
If the economic and employment situations are pleasing in the U.S., I'd like to apply for a job in New York or Boston. Otherwise, I would either pursue a Ph.D. degree or get a job back in China where qualified financial talents are always in great need even though it has been experiencing economic slowdown. Furthermore, my parents, relatives and friends can offer me essential help to apply for an ideal job in my home country.
My solid knowledge foundation offers me strong ability to accomplish my post-graduate study and to pass CFA exam successfully and thus indirectly provides me with greater chances to get my dream job. My experience in setting up “Stock Trading Club” has improved my awareness of teamwork and ability of leadership and persuasion. Furthermore, my internship experiences are also of great value in evaluating my career goals and helping me form a clearer path toward my goals. I also learned how to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients and became familiar with general loan business. All of these factors in academic and professional aspects can facilitate me to achieve my career objectives successfully.
Solely possessing a solid knowledge foundation is far from enough. Only by enhancing the ability of finding and solving problems can I stand out in the ever-changing financial markets, but this is my weak point. Thus, I’m compelled by Simon’s analytic and economics-based approach that can enable me to solve critical business problems and to recognize profitable investment opportunities. One of the other appealing aspects of Simon lies in its FMA program which could lead me to apply what I have learned from classrooms to dealing with real-world financial issues and to prepare myself for future transform from a student to a professional financial practitioner. My ability of communication, teamwork and even leadership can also be developed through discussion and collaboration with my teammates. What’s more, FMA could help me prepare for CFA exams. Last but not least, Simon’s prestige in the field of finance could offer me advantages in applying for my dream job. In short, Simon holds the key to my future success.
