Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? High school students should take a course on basic economics.

Have you ever seen exhausted high school students fall in sleep on a bus from school to home? Have you ever noticed that again and again they burn their nigh oil to study for the exams? Have you ever paid attention to their eight classes a day fully occupied schedules? If you have, you will definitely stand on my point that high school students should not take a course on basic economics.

To begin with, high school students are busy and are under great pressure of their school works, so no time can be squeezed for basic economics which seems unrelated to their exams. Read all the books on the reading list, practice all the experiment covered by the text books and write essays that are well enough for them to compete in the university entry interview, and the list will go on. All these works, not only the quantity but also the quality have to be ensured by every high school students. Apart from the pressure students are experiencing and the endeavor they have devoted, no wonder they are busily engaged. The question is there is only 24 hours a day. The time of high school students is limited. Beside schoolwork, students need time to spend with their families and friends, whom are the spiritual support for them. Indeed, not much time can be left, neither for studying basic economics. Accordingly, high school students should not be commanded to take the basic economic course.

Another equally important point is that students should be given the rights to choose the courses that they are interested in. Before entering the university, students need enough time in deciding the field they want to study in their further education. In high school, students register for the class they love and experience different study journeys. At last, they draw the conclusion about the field they want to contribute even more time to. It can be related to a person's whole life closely to some extent. Moreover, an approach for students to experience their love and to pursue their dream should be readily in hand. However, once they are occupied by the basic economic course, which is hated by some students from the very beginning, it is like announcing the death of their dream rigidly and directly. The possibility to discover their future goals is lost either. Consequently, students should not be forced to waste their precious time in study the useless course.

Admittedly, others may declare that no one can know whether the knowledge of a course will benefit you in the future and students should learn as much as they can in order to be competitive. However, consider about the health condition of students, they need time to build their body much eager than study a course as health is the foundation of everything. Without a strong body, people can do nothing but lie in bed.

To sum up, students should not be occupied by the basic economic course. It can become a pediment in their way to chase dream and even it can impair their health conditions.

Both of the lecturer and the professor explore whether genetically modified trees can benefit the environment and the people. The author lists three aspects that he believes where genetically modified trees will produce positive influence. The professor, on the contrary, insists that there are some benefits but the issue is not as good as the first thought. They have serious problems and costs.

First, genetically modified trees may resist to some diseases, says the speaker. However, it does not ensure its survival. For none genetically modified trees, they possess the high diversity in gene. It means that when facing each kind of environmental challenge, there will always be at least some individuals get through the challenges. Even most of the species are killed; the several individuals can ensure the survival of the whole species. However, genetically modified trees are more genetically uniform. There are some environmental changes the trees are not designed for. In this situation, all of them will be wiped out. Therefore, this directly disproves its counterpart in the reading material.

Moreover, the lecturer declares that company who produces genetically modified tree will charge more for the seeds from people who grow them. The professor explains that tree farmers cannot grow the trees and simply collect the seeds. By law, every time they grow the genetically modified trees, they have to pay for the company. Accordingly, little economic benefits can be produced. This is another point where experiences the contradicted theory.

At last, the speaker asserts that genetically modified trees can cause more damages to the wild trees because of their aggressively growing pattern. Typically, both kinds of trees are planted together mixed. Genetically modified trees can outcompete wild trees for resources such as water and sunlight, which eventually will crowd out the existence of mature trees.

In conclusion, the professor clearly identifies the weaknesses in the passage and clearly shows that the central argument, benefits can be brought by genetically modified trees, is incorrect.

For none genetically modified trees(这个用法可以吗), they possess the high diversity in gene. Even most of the species are killed; the several individuals can ensure the survival of the whole species. However, genetically modified trees are more genetically uniform. Both of the lecturer and the writer discuss the reasons for the declining number of yellow cedar, a tree species used to populate the northwestern North America. The author lists three hypotheses to explain the situation. The professor, on the contrary, believes that the reason is still unclear and all the explanations raised by the writer are inadequate.

First, it is known that the healthy yellow cedar is more resist to insect infection because their bark and leaves are saturated with powerful chemical, which is poisonous to insects. For the truth of cedar bark beetles found attacking the yellow cedars, the professor claims that those damaged trees are already sick or dead before the appearance of beetles. Therefore, beetles are not the fundamental cause to the dropping number of the yellow cedars, which directly improves its counterpart in the reading passage that it is the cedar bark beetles result in the declining number of yellow cedars.

Moreover, the speaker declares that bears, a main factor mentioned in the reading material, are not the cause for the overall damage got yellow cedars. He further explains that the yellow cedar population is decreasing on both main land and island near the coast in northwestern North America. The point is that no bears live on the island, where the tree number is also suffering. If the declining happens with or without bears, they are therefore not reasonable. Consequently, this is another point where experiences the contradicted theory.

At last, the lecturer asserts that the passage forgot to take one factor into account in discussing the damage of root system caused by climate changes that is more trees die at lower elevation where there is a warm environment instead of at higher elevation with cold weather. According to the statement in the reading, cold weather is the main reason for the damages to root system. However, the truth displayed to be the opposite, warm environment leads to more death. If it is the climate to be blame for the changes in root system, it is not the one that killing them. Accordingly, the last point is rebutted.

To sum up, the professor clearly identifies the weaknesses in the passage and convincingly shows that the central arguments, the three hypotheses, are incorrect.

One of your classmates needs help with some schoolwork. Which solution would you recommend your classmate should do to ask you for help or to find a professional tutor for help?

Have you ever heard about students' complaining for the difficulties in finding someone for solving academic problems? Have you ever seen students waiting out of professors' office in office hours? Have you ever had such a feeling that mist still covers the truth after listening to the explanation from the tutor? If you have experienced those conditions. I am sure that you are standing at my point that students are recommended to ask help from their friends, or me, for assistance if they encounter problems.

To begin with, students may feel nervous when they are talking to tutors or professors because of their superiority. How many times it can be seen on the campus that some students, especially girls, talk to their professors in an extremely low and trembling voice, which does no good for them to search for the answers. Seldom can people ask for the others repetition with patience if it is in an annoying low voice. So do the tutors and professors. Their time is limited, not much can be spent on the same students or answering students’ questions. Apart from that, the trembling voice introduces the impression that the students' lacking confidence in his or hers own work to the professor, which would probably leave a long-lasting negative picture of the students to the professors. Therefore, students cannot receive their expected answers to some extent. Also, a pessimistic impression is produced. Consequently, it is better to ask help from a friend.

Another equally important point is that I know my classmates, which means that I can offer the most efficient method for them to understand and digest certain problem. Professors' goal is the whole class. Accordingly, they tend to use the most predominate thought and approach to give the answer to students, which, sometimes, will not be the best suitable one for the individual's understanding. However, if it is under the condition of asking for solutions from me, I can point different solution in according to different people. As there existing the distinction among students, only by figuring out whether graph or formulation is better can I provide a way which fit certain students better. Besides, this will also lent them power in gaining higher scores. Accordingly, my understanding of the distinction among individuals can produce better help, which is students are suggested turn to.

Admittedly, others may against my view by pointing that I cannot answer all the problems from my classmates and there are mistakes in my answers sometimes. Maybe the individual's knowledge is limited, with the assistance from the whole class. I believe that the question can be solved. Moreover, mistakes can also show in the answers from tutors, which has already been accepted. Consequently, no students can be negatively influenced from my assistance.

In conclusion, students can receive the most suitable approach for their understanding without fear from me. How can they not to choose to turn to me for help when they are troubled by difficulties.

Both of the lecturer and the writer explore the existence of animal tissues in the fossils of T.rex's leg bone. The author lists three evidences to support his point that there are animal tissues. The professor, on the contrary, insists that all the information is skeptical and they may not be the tissues of T.rex.

First, the soft substance are not necessarily left by the blood vessels, states the speaker, it can be the residue of bacteria. He explains that long after the organisms have died, bacteria colonize the hollows, like blood vessels, in the bone. The detected soft organic substance could probably be the traces of organic substance left behind by the bacteria instead of the blood vessels in the bone. Therefore, this directly disproves its counterpart in the reading material.

Moreover, the professor declares that sphere has been discovered to be contained in other animals' body at the same period of time, including primitive animals that do not have red blood cell. If animals do not have red blood cell, the sphere cannot be the origin of the blood cell mentioned in the reading, while, maybe they are reddish mineral. Consequently, this is another place experiences the contradicted theory.

At last, the lecturer asserts that no collagen can live longer than 100000 years. Compared with the age, 70 million years old, of the T.rex's fossils, it contradicts people's understanding of the time collagen can live and seems improbable. Furthermore, the professor points out that a different and more recent origin can explain the finding of collagen-the skin of a researcher who was handling the bone. Accordingly, the last point is rebutted.

In conclusion, the professor clearly identifies the weaknesses in the reading material and convincingly shows that the central arguments in the passage, three statements, are incorrect.
