狠下心來,from now on, make your brain become an En machine. Stop it whenever you catch yourself thinking in Chinese. I think you're in a good environment--Vancouver, both climatically and linguistically.( I probably misuse "linguistically" here, but you know what I mean.). I've never been abroad. If I can do it , you definitely can.
Your biggest question now is Reading, right ? At least 3 key skills are involved-- vocabulary, speed, En thinking mind.
Instead of being separate to each other, these 3 are closely related. **How to build them ? The best strategy I'll suggest you do is to re-read the same articles over & over and try to recite at least every sentence if not every paragraph. **How to increase Voca ? Circle every new verb, adj, adv, phrase...( look up in dictionary all new words except for special nouns.) After re-reading & reciting, copy those words in a list. ( I liked to use a small piece of paper the size of a name card.) Try to review the list within 1 or 2 days . If I could remember the original sentence a word was in, I crossed the word out. Use this list to bring up the image, story, or content of the article.
Good luck |
