I sent in my official transcripts and recommendation letters through mailing before the deadline and in a couple of days all turned to "verified" and my appl. was "in committee". So it's been almost two months...

Yep. But some Chicago alumnus still believe that the "in committee" status is a quite positive signal since it means your application has passed through the student-review processes and being recommended to the admission committee. I don't know whether it is true. Now I just pray.
wabb, I don't think the official transcripts are necessary for them to make decisions. For me, it is just more convenient to send them official ones insteading of manually putting them in.
