今天有把这个贴子翻开来看了一遍对og所说"In choice C, the use of the verb phrase estimated that it is produces an ungrammatical sentence."

还是不很明白,请各位帮我再看看,这里为什么是个不符合语法的句子.

我是这样理解的，如果把多余的东西去掉剩下 fragments unearthed and estimated that it is......这样that 引导的从句应该是修饰fragments的，还原一下变成  estimate fragments that it is ,这肯定是不对的

estimate that 中that 从句作的是estimate的宾语，而不是象这句去限定estimated 修饰的名词。

不知道说清楚了没有。

完全同意。因为这里estimated作定语修饰fragments的。

总结:C的错误原因

本句句子大结构 believe that fragments...provide evidence.

that引导的宾语从句中,unearthed in ...and estimated to be 是过去分词(表被动)做主语fragments的定语,词性是形容词, 所以就很明显,做为形容词的estimated是不能再引导一个that定语从句了.

C provides的单数形式是错误的。fragments 是复数。

estimate 做主动，用estimate  sth. that..... 句型可以，其中that 从句是作为宾语的补足语。

estimate 做被动，只能是 sth. be estimated to.......

我同意,~~此处是fragments estimated that,不应该是物来estimate,而应该是人来estimate,所以此处不能用主动形式的estimate that句型，不知道这样解释对不对
