Hi impcol, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Would you mind sharing your background - what did you study as a undergrad and what are your other qualifications like? I do not think I will get the invite either and I doubt it was due to a lack of quant background. Just wanting to get a clue of their philosophy here. Thanks.

well i dont think my background will help you here. i study electrical engineering. so i definitely do not lack quant background. i passed CFA level 1 to demonstrate my finance knowledge.
my gpa and gre scores are pretty good too. i have one internship in consulting on emerging technologies. but i did other interesting stuffs that are more related to engineering. i guess my personal statement was bad?!
also MIT MFin is not that heavy math focused either. the lack of quant should not affect you.

I studied finance/business in undergrad, did some interns in investments and is a fulltime in industrial now. Grades are good though GMAT might be a little weak. CFA level one cleared also. I think my essays should not be an issue since I have incorporated lots of good inputs from my teachers. Guess missing some elements they want to see.. Do you apply any programs in Britain? What else did you apply?
top 40 US school, finance major+math minor, gpa 3.96/ interns and events/ I only took gre once and its only 320+3.5 so that might be an issue
