非美帝（比如加拿大）的Finance PhD出来，都要比同等排名的学校低半个档次。比如Yale排16，你觉得Yale牛逼一点还是排14的Toronto牛逼一点

1. it is very common that (the average) the ranking of university goes down from bachelor, then phd, then placement after phd. simply count the number of intake.
this is not only for non-US, but also for US.

2. why US sounds more powerful, is not because it is US, but since most top finance school are in US. at thus the 1st tier one have the ability to seek position in 1st tier university in other country, which may be only 2nd tier worldwide.
P.S. [not really sure] US are really pound of themselves and may look down those from other country, even same level indeed......

try UK+EU then.......

if you are looking for a undergraduate program, you are absolutely correct to look into QS / Times only (though they are indeed not a good ranking too)

for research one, personally like the Tilburg or the IDEAS one more than the UTD, but i guess all of them works.....

全球抢位置是指美帝的比较牛逼，至于签证问题你去哪个国家都应该要申请人家的工签吧。

我本科是HK读的，我比较同意这个说法。但是你要是已经是tenure了再被HK挖去，个人觉得还是不错的。

牛人在哪里都牛，在hktenure再跳回北美也不错啊。JB KIM能以cityU为起点最后跳到waterloo，lennox能以hkust为起点最后跳到USC。
