正确答案是B, 错选了A。

主要是迷惑于represent还是represents.

分析思路是既然用 a strong defense 来形容，那么就是把 The Federalist papers 作为集合名词看做一个，所以选择了represents.

麻烦大神帮忙分析下AB两个选项，多谢！

"Federalist Papers" would be a proper noun, and hence, singular.

But the "p" in "papers" is not capitalised. So "Federalist" functions as an adjective to the noun/subject "papers", which is plural. So you need "represent".

但我还是不太明白，楼主你要是看明白了帮我解释一下。

他的思路是 由于P不是大写，并且papers所以用复数。
可是我还是不太理解，如果是复数的话，为什么后面用 a strong defense呢...

被你这么一说，我也没明白为什么后面是a strong defense， 不过A的错误是很明显的，划线部分的and和as well是冗余的，这是硬伤。
