请教so as to与so that的用法，谢谢

新东方老课本：
I cannot quite understand the difference between “ so... as to” and “so that”. Please see the following sentences.

7-24. Several years ago the diet industry introduced a variety of appetite suppressants, but some of these drugs caused such severe stomach disorders that they were banned by the Food and Drug Administration.

Why I cannot say “such severe stomach disorders as to be”?

8-22 The Emperor Augustus, it appears, commissioned an idealized sculptured portrait, the features of which are so unrealistic as to constitute what one scholar calls an “artificial face”.

Why I cannot say “so unrealistic that they have constituted”?

10-21 Referring to the current hostility toward smoking, smokers frequently express anxiety that their prospects for being hired and promoted are being stunted by their habit.

Why I cannot say “In reference to the current hostility toward smoking, smokers frequently express anxiety that” ?

很早以前有人回答过so as to 的用法，我觉得很有道理，我再写一遍
so as to 仅用于系表结构中，而且结果状语的主语与主语一致，两点要同时满足
7-24不满足第一点
而8-22就是OG的88题，OG上解释得挺清楚的，C中的have constituted,时态用错了
对于so as to 和so that,我觉得没有哪个更好的区别，应该是两个的用途是等价的吧，只是用so as to时经常没有同时满足上面两个条件，所以选择so that,而如果有出现满足so as to用法的，其他选项中用到so that的应该都有其他的错误存在，应该不会有两个都正确的题存在吧
不知道我这样的理解对不对
对10-21我也不清楚，请哪位指点指点

Commonly, we can place an adjective in the middle of "so...as to" to emphasize the degree to which sth. or sb. is ** enough to do sth.But "so as to", which can  be replaced by "in order to", is applied to express an objective.

171. In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A)    so as to marry
(B)    and so could be married to

(D)    so that he could marry
(E)    in order that he would marry
The sentence calls for an adverbial clause of purpose to explain why Henry sought the annulment. D, the best choice, does this clearly and correctly. It is introduced by an appropriate conjunction, so that, and contains a logically appropriate verb form, could marry. Awkward and imprecise, A does not specify who is to marry Anne. B substitutes an illogical coordinate predicate for the needed purpose clause; because the annulment had not yet been granted. Henry could not remarry. C lacks an appropriate conjunction, and the infinitive clause to be married to ... makes this choice awkward and unidiomatic. Although E uses an appropriate conjunction, in order that, the verb form would marry is unidiomatic and illogical (might marry would be better).
1.    so as +…to 最好在主语和so之前没有任何名词,否则容易指代不清, 如此句有queen Catherine, 不好
2.    so as to 连在一起用不爽

應該是這樣的沒錯. 其實照老師上課講的是, so...as.... 是否定用語, 而 so that 是肯定用語, 照GMAT 的考法應該是so that 的頻率用的比較多.
Examples:
- so...as : She was not so young as she looked.
- so ..(that)..: The house is so conspicuous that you can never miss it.
