Genetically modified food are  becoming common because supporters argue that specific genes can help resist pests and diseases. However, detractors argue that GMOs raise a lot of issues from medical safety to environmental protection. Almost 70% of processed food contain modified products. U.S. is considering laws to require labels for GM foods so that consumers can decide. The traditional argument is that natural food is the best food. Basically none of our dietary staple are natural.
