it指代的是manufacturer, 查词典可以看到：A manufacturer is a business or company which makes goods in large quantities to sell. 所以只是一个制造企业，当然你也可以翻译为制造商，作为公司/企业，当然可以用it，所以后面的 its factories也make sense。
