The first verb in the clauses introduced by showed that is exercise. A and B incorrectly compound that present tense verb with a past tense verb, associated. C and D correctly use associate, but C follows with the past tense required and D with the present perfect have required. Both C and D incorrectly conclude with the future tense will gain.

还是对（E）do的省略有疑惑

说法很多

有说是为了不混淆代替的是require 或是 gain而干脆省略do

有说是不应该用do而应用will

还有很多其它说法

实在让小弟头很痛阿~

此外

if 引导的条件句，从句用一般现在时，主句却不用用一般将来时的问题

也是各说各话

不知道xdjm 们有什么想法吗？

在这里do是可以省略的,因为前面用了比较级,所以属于比较状语从句.than后面的那个主体的动作就可以省略,如(1)It's ever hotter today than yesterday(was).(2)The profit are greater than the losses(are).关于时态的问题,我觉得可以用排除法做,这里用一般现在时表示是一种规律,是客观现象.

不过ETS每次又会喜欢叫我们挑出「比较不同类」的情形

如同您举的例子：

It's ever hotter today than yesterday(was).

是否会被ETS认为是拿it（the waether）跟 yesterday做比较而产生不

合逻辑的情形呢？

小弟在语法方面真的很菜

比较考点——do
gemj:这个句子之所以不补出，而且THAN的前面虽然有宾语，但是双重动宾结构。从语法上、逻辑上都不会产生those raised in confinement与weight或medication相比较的嫌疑。当然，就这个例子来说，如果补出，并不算多余。这才是补与不补均可的情况吧。

就我个人认为It's ever hotter today than yesterday(was).是不存在（the waether）跟 yesterday比较的可能的。today和yesterday都是明确的时间副词，不会存在岐义。

但我覺得這裡省略do的原因,是因為可以很明確的知道被比較的就是calves,就算不加do也可以懂～沒有歧異,但Martinafang您說的例句剛好都是beV的省略~~就我所知～beV在比較中本來就是可以省略的（但較口語～ets應該不喜歡～不過還是視情況而定）例如：I'm taller than you (are). 但如果是助動詞～我覺得如果不加住動詞會產生歧異或不知比較的對象～就得要加助動詞！

正确的全句：

请问：：

those指的是calves吗？从意思上看they指的是 calves exercise and associate with other calves, ，这样的指代可以吗？另外， than前后的比较究竟是比较的是什么呢，是说和其它小牛们在一起的小牛比受到限制的小牛需要更少的药物治疗和平重更多更快，是这个意思吗？那么如果than后面补出，应该补出的是require medication 和gain weight 这两个动作吗？？

those是指代calves,MM说得很对啊

如果补出动词,补出助动词的可能性大一些,do----require ``and gain```

解了心里的疑惑，看来ETS也有头疼的时候，比如这题后面有两个动词的情况上索性不补了，反而没有歧义，真是拿ETS没办法。
