This passage talks about the SWOT analysis of IKEA, a large furniture retailer. The first part is a simple form of the introduction of IKEA. The second is the SWOT form. Then, the third is the details of SWOT. In the part of strengths, the passage focuses on the low cost and good brand reputation of IKEA. However, in the part of weakness, the passage mentions that the practice of cost reduction also causes the decline of the quality of IKEA's products, make them less attractive to the company's customers, and that publicity has become negative recent years. In the other two parts, the passage emphasizes that even though it faces intense competition, and its products become less attractive because of growth of average consumer income, the company may still be able to increse its revenue.

It is known that Ikea is a non-profit, even though the company has 135,000 employees in 44 countries with $27 billion in annual sales. The reason for non-profit is that the company can minimize the tax and disclosure, benefiting Kamprad family, the founder of Ikea, and making the company immune to a takeover.

Even though influenced by the economic ression around world, The IKEA still succeeds in increasing its sales and revenues. What's more, the company makes a larger plan: increasing its sales to EUR 50 billion by 2020. Managers are confident that they will make such achievement.
