在句义上并没有问题啊！东边西边， 同一个地震为蛇么不行？

而199里面的quake，因为有介词短语来限定修饰，所以用it指代的时候，逻辑意思有误。因为it/they指代的前面名词词组本身，包括修饰语；而that/those指代的是前面名词词组的中心词，不包括修饰语。

我还想问一下，那么than 之后出现one呢，又是指代什么呢，有什么错误呢？

one应指代主句主语an earthquake。

MM，这里有两个问题：

1、occurring表达一个尚未发生的地震合适吗？不能用分词，只能用不定式。

2、than前后比较的对象平行吗？前面是the area，后面是one；这里than后面没有谓语，也不可能是两个句子比较。

不好意思，踢一下。随便再问几个问题。

E选项原文：an earthquake  that occurs in the eastern United States  will typically devastate  100 times more area  than  if it occurred with comparable magnitude in the West.

我的改写：an earthquake  that occurs in the eastern United States  will typically devastate  100 times more area  than  it would do if it had occurred in the West.

问题1：100 times more area对不对啊？

问题2：than后面用if表假设，也就是说在东区发生的地震如果在西区发生会怎样怎样……，逻辑上好像是成立的啊？为什么不对呢？我知道E选项的结构肯定有问题，所以我用虚拟语气改写了一下，不知道这样对吗？

问题3：继续楼上mmfoolish的问题，白勇的语法书里说，one指代单数名词短语的核心词，如果按这个理论，C选项里的one of comparable magnitude应该不对吧？
