首先看一下d,urban应该就是指city的形容词，两者暂且把他们想成同义词，第二段中对urban有了新的定义~In addition to persons living in incorporated units of 2,500 or more, the census now included those who lived in unincorporated units of that size, and also all persons living in the densely settled urban fringe, including both incorporated and unincorporated areas located around cities of 50,000 inhabitants or more。粉色的字就是urban的新定义。，注意这个黄的地方，这些urban在那些50000人口的大城市的周围。然后看后面的 Each such unit, conceived as an integrated economic and social unit with a large population nucleus, was named a Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area ，这个unit,就是指大城市包括周围这些小城市的这样一个单位。再看后面，conceived as an integrated economic and social unit with a large population nucleus.

就是说，这些周边的城市和大的中心城市被看成是一个整体的经济和社会。也就是所谓的SMSA.

这样看来，是不是一个SMSA要至少有两个城市啊？一个市中心城市，另一个最少是他的周边城市~

唉，好像分析的很有道理，可是ETS出的真题里给的答案是D，这道题划分是难题，答对率40%。

原因很清楚，Each SMSA would contain at least (a) one central city with 50,000 inhabitants or more or (b) two cities having shared boundaries and constituting,这里说了，a或者b两个定义都可以认为是SMSA，所以D自然错了。

这也是我为啥只做ETS真题的阅读的原因，网上的答案太不可靠了。。。不和ETS的路子一样。
