我对being的用法一直很困惑
之前看到过
1 there being
2(n.+)being+done/adj
这两种用法一定错,我没有找到第一个的解释,第二个比如说being convinced可以直接说convinced,being less successful 可以直接说less successful。(但其实我觉得being是多余的,但为什么错呢?)
另外,有人总结过being正确的用法
1。human being (OG16 119)
2。被动语态进行时(刚刷OG,还没碰到)
3。动名词(OG110)
分享一个笔记:
Ron大神关于being的用法有讲过: "Being" as an action noun is ok: Being shot is very painful; You can start a modifier with "being", if you mean something ongoing in the actual timeframe of the sentence: The model being photographed outside is my wife.
我有两个问题:
先贴OG中对于A、C的解释:
A:Less successful... anticipates than rather than compared to . ..; a comma is insufficient to
join two independent clauses into a single sentence.
D:When compared to is an incorrect phrase to complete the comparison introduced by less.
