代词问题一枚

in the sentence must refer to the same singular noun; every they, them,and  their must
refer to the same plural noun.----曼哈顿

也就是说句子里的代词应该始终指代同一个事物

可是这句话里有俩代词，官方判定是对的，第一个是后边一整个从句的代词，第二个是指代industry，那不是违背了句子里的代词应该始终指代同一个事物 吗？

楼主是不是弄混了，曼哈顿里说的it 是说把它放在一句话中向前指代某个事物，但是你后面说的，第一句话的it是一个形式宾语来的，指代后面to......，它毕竟放在句首怎么可能和后面的it指代相同的事物呢，按常识理解都可以知道。其实GMAT并不一定说非是这样说跟这个东西有关的都要一律这样做，其实语法最大的原则就是没有歧义。而且楼主把IT在语法里的不同概念弄混了，建议去看下语法书，it还可以在强调句里，那你说他放句首也是指代事物吗，很明显不是、
