都说D的是主谓不一致，inventories和leads，可是为什么不是rising inventories做主语，谓语动词用单数呢？

动名词和动词不定式做主语不是用单数的吗？

另一个想法，为什么不是 –ing phrase 做主语，个人理解可能和动词的性质有关，rise，译为“提升，上升”，是不及物动词，后面不能直接跟宾语，说明rising只能动名词做形容词修饰inventories。而-ing phrase做主语应该是及物动词才行，这样后面可以直接跟宾语。

如果这样理解，那么OG 13 Q20
20. Retail sales rose 0.8 of 1 percent in August, intensifying expectations that personal spending in the July–September quarter more than doubled that of the 1.4 percent growth rate in personal spending for the previous quarter.

就只能理解为，主语是Retail sales ，谓语是rose，后面的0.8 of 1 percent是状语？主语补足语？还是句子的同位语？

第一印象我觉得也是做宾语，但是rise这个词，貌似是个不及物动词，不能直接跟宾语，尤其是当做上升和提升的时候

我看到一个曼哈顿的用法，
