楼主背景已经非常牛了。我感觉accounting PhD对accounting背景要求不是特别高，很多accounting PhD没有accounting degree的，反而对stats和econ的背景更重视。楼主数学背景已经很强了，还有会计工作经历，你只要上些accounting的课就足够了，再有些RA经验就perfect了，只要PS中有要读accounting PhD的有说服性的理由就够了。我觉得楼主可以申请一些top school

Hi Skura, what do you exactly mean by RA? does it have to be accounting RA? it seems eco professors need more RA than the accounting professors here. Does it hurt if I am an RA for an eco or finance professor but not an accounting professor? Thanks

Just listening will not help you much. (Try to) ask a couple of decent question. I know how hard it is. You must spend a lot of time reading the paper beforehand. If possible, discuss it with some PhD student or even faculty (assuming you find someone who is willing to talk to you..)

我觉得如果是accounting RA肯定更好拉，不过不管什么专业的RA都会很有帮助的，学校招PhD不强求招已经很有research idea的人，我认为他们更看重你的research potential，之后的他们会自己培养。所以别的专业的RA也会很有帮助的。而且我也认为你在芝大已经有地利了，蹭蹭seminar，要是拿个牛推那更有用了。
