我一直觉得EMBA不是按年龄分的而是按你的工作职位分的,Executive应该就是这个意思吧?不知道我的意思对不 ...
EMBA in US is very different than what you think. Check this

Columbia EMBA: Average Age 31, Average W/E 8 Years
In general, MBA is for people in their early career. They get MBA in order to either promote to mid-level manager or switch industry/role entirely. The latter serves as a second chance because a lot of people don't know what's best for them when they look for job at college. This second chance is very important to Americans because it is pretty difficult to switch career after campus recruiting. MBA campus recruiting maybe their only chance to change a career path. MBA has no age limit since people may want to change career in their 30s or even 40s, as long as you are willing to give up your time/previous experience/network. It is more difficult for them but it is not impossible.
EMBA on the other hand, is for people who is in mid career and want to refresh knowledge base/network. They get EMBA in order to promote to senior role within industry. EMBA is usually part-time/weekend because mid career persons have much more to risk if they go full-time. But that doesn't mean EMBA's curriculum is less intense/difficult. At least for finance school like Columbia, its EMBA has exactly same requirement as MBA. You may think EMBA students are just for networking but in fact MBA has much more chance to do networking/party than EMBA does due to EMBA's full-time job and time constraint. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, EMBA's diploma is same as MBA's, same three letter "MBA" without E in it. Even though average age is aroud 30, I do know some people do EMBA at their mid 20s because they don't want to quit jobs and have no desire to switch career |
