thank you Vincent! I visited duke and cornell this past two weeks for their admitted student event ...
Again I don't want to be judgmental and then mislead you. This is just my personal "impression" and samples pool is small.
From what I heard, Yale is a rising MBA program. It's young but improving very fast. I knew more Yale ppl in big consulting firm than Duke.
Another side of "smaller network" means tighter community and more influence from professor. For example, Stanford also got very small size enrollment. Alum's quality plays a much more important part. How many notable alumni are from Yale (not only SOM)? Presidents of US and other countries, Ministers, top people from almost all the fields... You can imagine these powerful people will definitely ensure the status of Yale, and give all the efforts to develop SOM. It means resources, sponsorships, and a promising future of the school. Maybe one day Bush or Clinton (yes they are from Yale) will go back to campus to give a talk? Who knows what and who would inspire you in these two years? That's what I said, find the school the enable your potential, increase your possibility, other than narrow yourself down.
I didn't mean any offense to Connell and Duke. They are great schools produced great people. I talked to ppl from Duke during application and I like them. They are extremely nice people and they helped me a lot.
But if you chose Duke/Connell just because you spent more time with them and Yale just got 1-day welcome day (that's what you emphasized), it really makes no sense.
