Am pretty upset and just want to cry and scream out.

Dashasha: Do you know what in detail your Sloan friend had done in boosting up his candidacy? Or please give me his contact and I'll directly consult with him myself. Thanks in advance.

I think we three all applied to MIT Sloan in the first round.

DREAMERINSH: I think in creativity I would have little space to be challenged. My weakest part may lie in AdCom viewpoint that my career goals are EXTREMELY HARD to reach. Hope I can have a chance to make it up.

我提交的Round II。关键看MIT想从中国招几个人?如果像去年一样6个人甚至更多,那么waitlist还有很大机会,可能三位都能拿到offer;如果只招一个人,那就困难了。

谢谢shanshui兄的鼓励。vagabond and HRperson mm, 偶们应该做点什么把自己从wl上off下来。大家感觉现在好像无从下手,but three heads are better than one,何况坛子里高手如云。既然MIT喜欢creativity,我们不妨brain storming 一下。my msn potato_01(A) hotmail.com

MIT在BW上应该有论坛的吧

Adcom officer和current student答疑的那种

到上面问问WL该做些什么

一般Adcom officer都会回答的

My suggestion is to retake a GMAT and then show the admission officer a higher score ASAP, if your GMAT is not highter than 740. Frankly, there are so many Chinese with so nice essays today, the GMAT plays a much more important role in their final decision.

Last year, I was placed by Wharton in the WL, I did nothing. While my friend retook a GMAT with a score of 740 and admitted at last from the waiting list.

If you have a very strong background and a high GMAT score already. you can ask your supervisor to write another recommendation to the admission officer.

Any way, push them. - This is my friend, a Chicago MBA who once worked in the admission told me.

In general, we have some 1/3 chance to get in. The answers on any forum are pretty general. We may tailor our respective needs to boost up our respective candidacy. I guess there is no uniform formula to reach that goal. But the procedure may be pretty similar: show your commitment, visit classes again, talk to Jon or other officers, submit additional materials that can substantiate your candidacy as well as clear up their major concerns, and the like. The key here is not for how to do and when to do, but for what to do, for example, what content of supplemental materials should we submit again.

On the one hand we MUST do anything helpful; on the other hand, we absolutely need to avoid drawing a snake with a pair of feet. It's pretty hard to be appropriate under one circumstance that we have no feedbacks. And most importantly, how do we know what they like or dislike?

What concentration do you guys plan on? My focus is Financial Services, research (more on buy-side), which is white-hot even for Americans, let alone for a foreign career switcher.
